Pair builds future at Stanpark's Monument

For Norma and Jon Edwards, Stanpark Homes' Monument at Lone Mountain in the northwest valley is more than just a place to build a future together. It's also where they met and married.

Norma Caldwell was a sales agent at the community when she met Jon Edwards, an electrical subcontractor. One year later, they exchanged wedding vows on the lot where their new home will be built.

"Having both worked at Monument, Jon and I knew all about the quality of the home building, the beautiful views, the gated entry and the lack of community fees," Norma Edwards said. "Our plans to purchase were finalized when Jonny (Jon's son) wished we could live in the two-story Minuet floor plan."

At the Summit, designs range from 1,379 to 2,461 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and three-car garages. Prices begin in the $150,000s.

Crescendo homes measure from 1,949 to 3,634 square feet and feature as many as seven bedrooms and four-car garages. Prices start from the low $200,000s.

Amenities include a gated entrance and 5-acre park with a grass area, playground, barbecues, benches, gazebo and walking trails.

Special programs offered by the builder include one which helps home buyers sell their current homes and discounted closing costs with an approved lender.

The builder, which has more than 30 years of experience, offers a 10-year homeowner protection plan.

To visit, take Interstate 215 or U.S. Highway 95 to Cheyenne Avenue and head west. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
